The Only Thing That Matters Is The Kingdom

The Ultimate Reality Check

Our collective attention is being pulled in so many directions these days.

Current events are cascading and converging into a fractured, frenzied madness that appears to have no ending.

With so much happening around the world, in every direction and all at once, it seems fitting that we attempt to cut through all the noise and confusion and recalibrate our senses, focusing our minds on the one constant that truly brings us balance and peace.

It’s my hope that this writing does exactly that.

A simple statement of fact, meant only for those who hold a deep belief and faith in a Creator who reigns Supreme, is key to the success of this exercise.

The only thing that matters is The Kingdom.

Consider the straightforwardness of that statement.

It cuts cleanly through any confusion or turmoil of frenetic activity that may constantly barrage our senses, involving both our personal problems and the events we see unfolding around the planet.

The only thing that matters is The Kingdom.

Yeshua made this statement clearly evident by His instruction to “Seek first The Kingdom” (Matthew 6:33), and again in His reciting of what’s commonly referred to as The Lord’s Prayer, when after teaching us properly how to address The Father He said, “Thy Kingdom come” (Matthew 6:9 to 13).

The only thing that matters is The Kingdom.

This meditative kind of mantra can be an effective mechanism in that it both resets our priorities and recenters our minds with the ultimate reality check.

It’s not about you.

The only thing that matters is The Kingdom.

We can all get so caught up in our own lives, our own problems, and our own issues that we tend to lose sight of the fact that it’s not about us. It involves us as individuals, and even as a collective, but we are not the main characters in the events taking shape all around us.

Likewise, we can get consumed by worry, and even by fear, of the events we’re witnessing around the world that appear to be pushing it towards a cataclysm of destructive and dangerous outcomes.

There are two things that must be prioritized above and beyond both our needs and our concerns, and they should always be placed foremost in our minds.

The Holiness of God’s Sovereign Name and The Kingdom of Heaven on this earthly plane, both of which are put well before being given our “daily bread,” as is mentioned when instructed to pray, “Our Father, Who Art In Heaven, Hallowed Be Thy Name. THY KINGDOM COME.”

The only thing that matters is The Kingdom.

Nothing else matters.

Not your family and not your friends.

Not your past and not your present.

Not your failures and not your successes.

Not what’s been taken from you and not what’s been done to you.

Nothing.

The trifecta that we should all be focusing our collective hopes and dreams on when it comes to The Kingdom is that we are subjects to it, subjects of it, and eventually become Subjects in It.

Remember that the world and its desire is passing away, and only those who do the will of The Father will remain (1 John 2:17).

Let that reassurance rest in your mind and couple it by repeating over and over the only priority that can ease your thoughts and calm your countenance in times of uncertain turmoil.

The only thing that matters is The Kingdom.

Selah.
